If I could sing well (or at all), I would want my voice to sound like this.
I love listening to what magical-ear-madness Charli is going to come up with next. In a world full of over-saturation when it comes to pop artists, it’s refreshing to hear a song like this.
This song makes me happy in a way that I can’t put into words. And just picturing Jonathan Groff in an oversized crown (as King George) brings an ear-to-ear smile to my face. Even if it’s not exactly the nicest song lyrically it’s just so upbeat and fun.
That said, I have not yet seen this musical live however after watching the AMAZING Tony Awards hosted by the brilliant James Corden last night, I skimmed through the soundtrack and …holy expletives! The music is incredible. I’ve already been a fan of Jonathan Groff’s from his Glee days so yea I’m hooked. That voice!
When I hear this song, I feel like I’m floating through the clouds riding on my very own Falkor (Yes, that’s a Never-ending Story reference!) It’s a contemporary form of audible fantasy and my ears are in love.
“You just get me like I’ve never been gotten before.”
Ugh I’ve always loved that line and everything else about this song. It’s an older song, from 2010, and still remains one of my favorites. When you meet someone that just understands you from day one – all of you including your flaws, demons and scars – that has to be amazing. I hope someone gets me one day.
The chorus of this song reminds me of what early 2000’s dance songs sounded like – like something Reina or Jocelyn Enriquez would’ve released (OMG hello nostalgia!). I can see this becoming a hit.
