SWV “Weak”

Holy Throwback Thursday. You are welcome.

Casey Veggies & Dej Loaf “Tied Up”

I can thank the most recent episode of Girls (HBO) for introducing me to this song. I’m not sure how the music selection process works on that particular show but I honestly think that Lena Dunham and I have similar taste in music. Well, a Buzzfeed quiz told me so anyways.

Jonas Blue & Dakota “Fast Car”

I was looking for new dance music the other day and came across this gem. Upbeat versions of slow songs don’t always work (and they sometimes take away from the emotion behind the song) but I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this remix.

Meghan Trainor “No”

Upon hearing this song for the first time I was quickly reminded of the golden age of female pop singers aka the late 90’s/early 00’s ladies aka Britney, Destiny’s Child, Dream, Aguilera, etc. “No” takes me back to that time and I’m currently #obsessed. This song is “untouchable.”

Lukas Graham “7 Years”

The lyrics of this song give me that same bittersweet feeling that I get upon hearing Five For Fighting’s “100 Years.” As someone who just entered the third decade of her life, the years feel like they are rushing by. This song, while beautifully crafted and sung, tends to remind me of that.

Carly Rae Jepsen “Everywhere You Look” (The Fuller House Theme)

Have mercy! Carly Rae Jepsen’s contemporary take on the original Full House theme song is genius. It’s a more grown up version of the song, which makes sense since Netflix’s Fuller House takes place 20+ years later. For all of you Full House fans, I highly recommend checking out the show for some good ‘ole nostalgic fun.

CL “Hello Bitches”

You might know CL as a member of the insanely popular all female k-pop group 2NE1. A few months ago she released this music video for “Hello Bitches” and it’s kind of amazing. Enjoy!
